EEZYSUN is a natural, mineral-based sunscreen that offers broad-spectrum SPF50+ protection. It's cruelty-free, reef-safe, and water-resistant, making it an eco-friendly and highly effective choice for sun protection.

1. Chemical sunscreens: absorb UV rays and convert them to heat, are lightweight, but can cause skin irritation and harm the environment.

2. Mineral sunscreens: physically block UV rays, are gentle on sensitive skin, provide immediate protection, and are eco-friendly but are a slightly thicker consistency.

  1. Broad-Spectrum Protection: Mineral sunscreens provide broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays, shielding the skin from sunburn, premature aging, and skin cancer.
  2. Immediate Effectiveness: Unlike chemical sunscreens that need to be absorbed, mineral sunscreens start working immediately upon application.
  3. Gentle on Skin: They are less likely to cause skin irritation or allergic reactions, making them suitable for sensitive skin and people with skin conditions like eczema or rosacea.
  4. Non-Comedogenic: Mineral sunscreens are typically non-comedogenic, meaning they don't clog pores, which helps prevent acne breakouts.
  5. Eco-Friendly: Formulated without harmful chemicals like Oxybenzone and Octinoxate, mineral sunscreens are reef-safe and do not damage marine ecosystems.
  6. Stable Protection: Mineral ingredients like Zinc Oxide and titanium dioxide are photostable, meaning they do not break down when exposed to sunlight, ensuring consistent protection.
  7. Minimal Absorption: Since they sit on top of the skin rather than being absorbed, mineral sunscreens reduce the risk of systemic absorption and potential hormone disruption associated with some chemical sunscreens.

In summary, mineral sunscreens offer safe, effective, and eco-friendly sun protection suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone skin.

1. Moisturise before applying. Always apply 15 minutes before going into the sun.

2. Apply a small dot of sunscreen into your hand first instead of smearing it onto your body.

3. Rub it into your hand first before applying. This heats up sunscreen in your hands and makes it easier to rub in.

4. Pat the sunscreen into your skin instead of rubbing it. Rubbing can actually cause uneven application, and frequently causes streaks and a noticeable white cast.

5. Wait for it to absorb before going out into the sun or applying makeup.

6. Don't forget to reapply every 2 hours or follow instructions closely on the packaging. Some of our products have different instructions depending on how water resistant the formulation is.

That's awesome! Please contact info@eezybrands.com with your information.

Yes, EEZYSUN is specially formulated to be gentle on sensitive skin, making it an ideal choice for those who are prone to irritation or allergic reactions.

Key Features for Sensitive Skin:

  • Natural Ingredients: EEZYSUN uses natural, mineral-based ingredients like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, which are known for their gentle and soothing properties.
  • Free from Harsh Chemicals: Our formula avoids harsh chemicals such as parabens, fragrances, and synthetic preservatives, which can often trigger sensitivity and allergic reactions.
  • Hypoallergenic: EEZYSUN is designed to minimize the risk of skin irritation and allergic reactions, making it safe for daily use on sensitive skin.
  • Mineral Based: Unlike chemical sunscreens, which absorb UV rays, mineral sunscreens create a physical barrier that sits on top of the skin and reflects UV radiation. This reduces the likelihood of skin irritation.

EEZYSUN Sunscreen is water resistant.

  • Water-Resistant: Sunscreen that maintains its effectiveness for a specified duration (usually 40 or 80 minutes) while swimming or sweating. It needs to be reapplied after the indicated time or after towel drying.
  • Waterproof: No sunscreen can be labeled as waterproof. The term is not allowed by regulatory agencies because all sunscreens eventually wash off with prolonged water exposure. Always reapply as directed for continued protection.

Our main actives:

1. Titanium Dioxide
2. Zinc Oxide

These act as filters that protect the skin by deflecting the UVA and UVB rays.

All of our products are vegan-certified. What does this mean? Our ingredients are 100% plant-derived.

"Reef-safe" means our sunscreen does not contain harmful chemicals like Oxybenzone and Octinoxate, which cause coral bleaching and damage marine life. Hawaii banned these ingredients in 2018 to protect coral reefs. EEZYSUN is formulated without these harmful substances, ensuring it's safe for both you and the environment. By choosing EEZYSUN, you help protect marine ecosystems and support healthy coral reefs.

Yes it is!

We aim to protect our ocean environment, more specifically our coral reefs as much as possible.

EEZYSUN offers SPF 50, providing broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays. We chose SPF 50 to ensure maximum protection for all skin types, as it blocks 98% of UVB rays and offers superior defense against sunburn and long-term skin damage. This level of protection is ideal for extended outdoor activities and ensures you stay safe under the sun.

Our advanced formulation minimises the white cast commonly associated with mineral sunscreens. However, it is known with non-nano mineral sunscreens can be slightly thicker and more difficult to absorb. We recommended to applying correctly:

1. Moisturise first.

2. Only using a dot of sunscreen in your hand.

3. Rub the sunscreen between your hands to heat it up.

4. Pat instead of rub into your skin.

5. Wait for it to absorb.

All our ingredients have been sourced ethically and we have a RSPO certification as evidence of this.

SPF, or Sun Protection Factor, measures how well a sunscreen protects the skin from UVB rays, which cause sunburn and contribute to skin cancer. For example, SPF 50 means the skin is protected 50 times longer than without sunscreen.

Our sunscreen's Sun Protection Factor is sitting at 50, the highest protection one can get. Don't be fooled into thinking that there is a higher protection out there, this is fake news.

The 50 in SPF50 refers to the amount of protection the sun screen offers compared to unprotected skin.

SPF 50+ sunscreens are formulated to allow less damaging rays to reach your skin’s surface than lower SPF sunscreens. For example, when applied correctly, SPF30+ allows 3.3% of UVB rays to reach your skin while SPF 50+ allows only 2% to reach your skin.

This may not sound like much of a difference, but over a lifetime of UV exposure, it all adds up.

There should be no concerns with using a product that contains essential oil as a fragrance as it is natural and will not cause any irritations with sensitive skin type.

However, like all cosmetic products, there may be a concern for those who may be allergic to the specific essential oils used. The consumer should just be aware of their allergies and take precaution.

  1. Cleanse the Skin: Gently wash the sun-exposed areas with cool water and a mild cleanser to remove any sunscreen, sweat, and dirt.
  2. Dry Gently: Pat your skin dry with a soft towel. Avoid rubbing, as sun-exposed skin can be sensitive and more prone to irritation.
  3. Apply the Gel: Squeeze a small amount of after sun gel onto your hands. Gently apply it to the sun-exposed areas, ensuring an even layer. Focus on areas that feel particularly warm or sunburned.
  4. Massage Gently: Lightly massage the gel into your skin in circular motions until it is fully absorbed. The cooling effect of the gel will help soothe and hydrate the skin.
  5. Reapply as Needed: Reapply the gel as often as needed to maintain hydration and comfort. For severely sunburned areas, you may need to apply it more frequently.
  6. Avoid Further Sun Exposure: Protect your skin from further sun exposure by wearing protective clothing, staying in the shade, or applying a high-SPF sunscreen if you need to go outside.

EEZYSUN's AfterSun gel helps to cool, soothe, and rehydrate sun-exposed skin, reducing redness and discomfort while aiding in the skin's natural recovery process. It can also be used to soothe minor burns and cuts.

Nope it does not, all essential oils are natural and are extracted from plant material.

Yes, EEZYSUN mineral sunscreen is generally considered safe for babies over 6 months old. It uses natural, non-irritating ingredients like Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide that sit on top of the skin to reflect UV rays. For babies under 6 months, consult a paediatrician before using any sunscreen.

No, it is not certified organic.

Definitely not! EEZYSUN is committed to being cruelty-free. We do not test our products on animals at any stage of production.

Yes, the SPF is regulated in South Africa.

There are only two accredited test Laboratories in South Africa who conduct SPF tests and they issue certificates when the formula passes the test.  These certificates will then be presented to CANSA, who then allow permission to use the CANSA SunSmart Logo on branding and product.

Our products have an expiry date of 3 years.

According to Dr Du Plessis, all of our products have gone through multiple sensitivity tests to make sure that they are ideal for those with all different types of skin conditions, including those with sensitive skin types.

Our products have also been tested and approved by Dermatologists.

Absolutely not! We have received lots of positive feedback on this matter.

Our formula is non-oily and water/sweat resistant, meaning that it is ideal for those wanting to do some exercise or sport in the blazing sun. It will not run into your eyes when sweating or when swimming.

It is extremely important to reapply sunscreen and no sunscreen will allow for one time application.

Reapply every two hours and if swimming or extreme sweating, check your packaging for instructions. Some of our products are 80 minute water resistant and others are 40 minutes. Our aim is to make sure all of our sunscreen formulations are 80 minutes water resistance within the next couple of years.

Please always make sure to towel dry before reapplication.

Tinted sunscreen is a type of sunscreen that combines sun protection with a subtle tint to even out skin tone and provide light coverage. It contains mineral UV filters for sun protection and pigments that give the skin a natural-looking colour, similar to a lightweight foundation or BB cream.

This product offers the dual benefits of protecting the skin from harmful UV rays and enhancing the complexion with a hint of colour.

Our tinted sunscreen range is safe to use on children from the ages of 13 up.

Our lineup includes Light, Tan, and Deep shades, each curated to complement a variety of skin tones.

Light is ideal for fair to light complexions, while Tan offers a natural radiance for medium to olive skin tones. Deep provides a rich, sun-kissed glow for those with darker skin tones.

Hyaluronic acid is a powerful humectant that can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water. It helps to keep the skin hydrated by drawing moisture from the environment and locking it into the skin.

1. Enhanced Hydration: The inclusion of hyaluronic acid ensures that your skin stays hydrated, preventing the dryness that can sometimes be caused by sun exposure.

2. Improved Texture: Hyaluronic acid helps to create a smoother texture, allowing the tinted sunscreen to blend more seamlessly into the skin, providing an even and natural finish.

3. Added Skin Benefits: Beyond sun protection, the hyaluronic acid in EEZYSUN’s tinted sunscreen provides additional skincare benefits, helping to maintain healthy, plump, and hydrated skin.

4. Improved Application: The emollient properties of jojoba oil improve the application of the tinted sunscreen, allowing it to glide on smoothly and blend evenly for a natural finish.

According to Dr Hennie Du Plessis, the sunscreen is 99.9% natural and + 0.1% Sodium Benzoate. By regulations a product is classified as “natural” when 95% or more of the ingredients are natural.  Therefore, our sunscreen is natural but not 100% natural.

What is Sodium Benzoate?

It is a preservative used to extend the shelf life. In small concentrations as seen in our sunscreen, Sodium Benzoate is deemed safe by the FDA (GRAS).

Ever wondered why certain ingredients didn't make it into EEZYSUN products?

Here’s our 'No-No List' and the reasons behind our choices:

  • Parabens: Potential disruptors, we opt for cleaner preservative alternatives.
  • Sulphates: Known to be harsh, we choose gentler cleansing agents.
  • Nano Particles: To uphold safety and avoid potential skin penetration concerns.
  • Oxybenzone: Steering clear due to its impact on coral reefs and potential skin sensitivity.
  • BHA, Octinoxate, Homosalate, Octocrylene: Avoiding these for their possible hormonal effects.

At EEZYSUN, it's not just about what we put in; it's about what we keep out.

All the raw materials are sourced and purchased from locally accredited suppliers.

Glycerin is a natural compound and acts as a humectant which is a moisturizing agent that draws moisture from the air around and helps keep the moisture in the skin.  Research has shown that glycerin mimics the skin’s natural moisturizing factor (NMF) which is why it Is compatible with all types of skin and ages of skin.

Glycerin has a long history of safe use, and is considered non-allergenic and suitable for breakout-prone skin. It is generally recognized as safe by the FDA.

Glycerin in our products is derived from:

PalmSoyCoconut Oil

Glycerol Monostearate is an emulsifier and is found in many personal care products.  The FDA has deemed that the ingredient is recognized as safe (GRAS). Research shows that the ingredient will not irritate the skin and therefore is appropriate for those with sensitive skin types.
Glycerol Monostearate in our sunscreen is derived from:

* Vegetable Oil
* Palm Kernel Oil
* Soy Oil

Cetearyl Alcohol is a white, waxy mixture of fatty alcohols; cetyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol. It is used in personal care products to prevent creams from separating into oil and liquid. Due to their chemical structure, fatty alcohols (like cetearyl alcohol) don’t have the same effect on skin as other alcohols do. Instead, they act as emollients, trapping water and providing a soothing feel to the skin.

The Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) Expert Panel has concluded that fatty alcohols, including cetearyl alcohol, are safe for use in cosmetic products. In clinical studies, cetearyl alcohol was found to have no significant toxicity and was non-mutagenic. Cetearyl Alcohol has also been deemed safe by the FDA.

Cetearyl alcohol in our products is derived from:

- Coconut Palm Trees
- Palm Trees
- Corn Plants
- Soy Plants
